How it works

One Australian business handles inspection, packing, batching, submission and tracking. The grader decides the grade.

  1. 1Your cardRaw, exactly as you listed it
  2. 2Penny sleeveGoes on first, opening downwards
  3. 3Semi-rigid holderCard Saver style. Never a top loader
  4. 4Rigid board, both sidesNothing adhesive touches card or holder
  5. 5Rigid mailerCard-sized and stiff, not a plain envelope

Drawn, not photographed. Every photograph on this site is of a real card, so the one thing here that is not a card is not a photograph.

  1. 1

    Create a submission

Pick a grader and tier, list each card, choose pre-screen or not. Every card gets its own Saikyou ID.

  2. 2

    Pack it properly

Penny sleeve, then a semi-rigid holder, then something stiff on both sides. Post it tracked with your submission number in the parcel.

  3. 3

    We check it in

We open your parcel, check every card against the list you sent, and photograph each one front and back. We do this at every stage.

  4. 4

We take a closer look, if you asked

Under proper light and magnification. We write down what we can actually see, then you decide whether to go ahead.

  5. 5

Your cards go with everyone else’s

Once you have paid and given the go-ahead, your cards join the next batch out. We pack them the way the grader asks for and send them tracked.

  6. 6

    Then you wait

Grading takes months, so we show you where your cards are the whole way. When they come back we photograph the slabs, then ask for return postage at cost before they go out.

What you'll see

  • The photographs are yours, at full size, on the card’s own page.
  • Every time your card changes hands we write it down: arrived, photographed, packed, sent, back again.
  • When the batch moves, your card moves with it, and you see that the same day.
  • No polishing, pressing, flattening, chemical cleaning or restoration.
  • We photograph the slab front and back before it goes back in the post.

Saikyou doesn't speed up grader processing and doesn't influence grades. We don't clean, press or restore cards. If a pre-screen finds characteristics we can't confidently verify, we say so: the formal authenticity determination belongs to the grading company.
